Mahmoud Bakhshi - Tulips Grown from the Blood of Our Youth
Bakhshi’s work is all about his views on political and social issues that he faces.
The materials used for ‘Tulips Grown from the Blood of Our Youth” are neon, tin, wood, plastic and electric engines.
During the Persian Constitutional Revolution of 1905, the Tulip flower was frequently used and had become a symbol of the Revolution. The neon tulips on the tinplates are there to represent the monuments that are all over

7. Comment on why you find this work interesting, how does it relate to your own interests?
I find Bakhshi’s work on the “Tulips Grown from the Blood of Our Youth” very unique and interesting to look at. His work brings a different approach to contemporary art, which he also includes a deeper meaning behind his creations. Bakhshi’s work relates to my interest because he uses a range of materials to come up with his own original work, he also bases his artworks on his beliefs, which I personally enjoyed.

For Question 3, Here's a list of this year's triennial:

For question 6, i also did Mahmoud Bakhshi.
Mahmoud Bakhshi's work engages with the political and social issues of contemporary Iran. He draws on familiar motifs from his home country, Iran.
Iran is an ancient empire whose borders have expanded and contracted throughout history. Bakhshi's work explores contemporary Iran's relationship with this History.
Yes, The symbol in Bakhsi's art is mimicing the Iranian coat of arms, which he connects to the violence and blood shed in Iran during recent protests against the government. The symbol is referred as a tulip flower which represents new growth and life while the title suggests the work is a product of trauma.

I think you have basically covered everything. As Gracia said, there were more countries which were involved in this years triennial. Other than that, I think you have written everything that needed to be said. I like your choice of artist you wrote about and also agree with what you have said is a good explanation of the artist. I find this artist very interesting and is very different to many other artists who will be at the Triennial. I believe this because the background of the artist is very interesting and they know first hand what it is to live in a country going through a hard period and the artist does a very good job of sharing their political and social views towards their country and life.
